Heritage Program for Senior Adults - Cuero, Texas
I had a fantastic day working with our Senior Citizens Center, delivering meals to 50 individuals throughout our community. The run was slower than usual because I had to chat a little with each recipient. I was accompanied by the regular driver & the transportation was a real experience. The truck started with a piece of wire (no key), it billowed plumes of grey smoke and it "conked out" several times. I thought we would end up pushing it back to the Center. The climax of the day was when I found out that "Community Service" in Cuero means you are on probation and serving out part of your sentence. I laughed till my sides hurt. My motto: Never too old to laugh and learn. By the way, I was asked back today, to give a presentation on our program, as well as talk about " The Secrets to Longevity" - V. Valerie Ramsey
