Construction in Full Swing: Behavioral Health Pavilion of the Virginias
Demo is complete and construction is in full swing on the new Behavioral Health Pavilion of the Virginias. The Pavilion is located at the site of the old St. Luke’s Hospital in Bluefield, WV. The Pavilion, a service of Princeton Community Hospital, will accommodate 30 geriatric beds, 24 acute care general adult beds and a 10 bed psychiatric intensive care unit. Additionally, the first level will house compatible outpatient services.

“This is an exciting time,” said Larry Burchfield, Regional Director for the Behavioral Health Pavilion. The subcontractors are all working, the framing and dry wall has begun and after trying to visualize this for so long, it is great to finally be able to see it come together. It really is going to be a beautiful place.”

In addition to being able to offer top notch regional behavioral health care, the Pavilion will also set the stage as a training center. Two rooms are available for behavioral health care trainings to be offered for social workers, nurses and other clinical staff.

The Pavilion is scheduled to open March 1, 2010 and will offer much-needed services to the people of Southern West Virginia, Southwest Virginia, and the surrounding region. The Pavilion will bring over 100 new jobs to the Bluefield area. For more information on the Pavilion contact
